Aion 2 Leveling Guide: The Best 1–45 Main Quest Route and Hidden Cube Guide

Aion 2 Leveling Guide: The Best 1–45 Main Quest Route and Hidden Cube Guide

The fastest way to reach level 45 on a new character is to keep the main Episode quest chain as your progression backbone and only leave it when the story requires additional progress. This route also gives you steady access to Aion 2 Items, equipment upgrades, and useful resources while avoiding unnecessary monster grinding. Hidden Cubes are best handled as optional exploration along the route, while inventory expansion should be treated as a separate system.

Levels 1–20: Follow the Episode Quests

Start by following the yellow Episode quests and complete objectives in the order they appear. The main story provides experience while also opening regions and progression systems, so replacing it with open-world grinding usually creates unnecessary detours.

You can complete nearby green quests when they are directly on the way or help with a progression requirement. There is no need to clear every side quest during the initial push to 45.

Early leveling priorities

  • Follow the yellow Episode quests first
  • Take nearby side content when it contributes to progression
  • Equip useful upgrades as they become available
  • Keep your weapon reasonably current
  • Avoid spending heavily on gear that will soon be replaced
  • Activate convenient travel points and exploration objectives when they are already on your route
  • Leave long exploration detours for later

The goal during this stage is simple: keep moving through the story while maintaining enough equipment quality to handle the next objectives.

Level 20: Add Krao Cave to Your Progression

Krao Cave is the first major Expedition checkpoint and its Exploration mode becomes available around level 20. This is a good point to become familiar with the Expedition system without turning the dungeon into a repeated farming routine.

Run the Expedition when it fits your current progression or provides a useful equipment upgrade. Once the relevant objective is finished, return to the Episode quests rather than spending large amounts of time repeating the same content.

Krao Cave approach

  1. Enter Exploration mode when it becomes available.
  2. Learn the basic dungeon mechanics and boss patterns.
  3. Take useful equipment upgrades when they improve your current setup.
  4. Complete any story-related requirement connected to the Expedition.
  5. Return to the main quest as soon as the required progression is finished.

The Expedition is part of the leveling path, but it does not replace the main story.

Around Level 22: Clear the First Ascension Gate

The first major interruption usually comes when the Episode chain requires additional Ascension progress. When this happens, check the current objective instead of assuming that you need to grind monsters.

Regional quests, Strongholds, and Sealed Dungeons can help fill the required progression. Choose activities close to your current location whenever possible so the detour remains short.

When the story stops, use this order:

Check the Ascension requirement → complete nearby qualifying activities → finish Ascension → return to the Episode quest

Once the requirement is complete, continue the story immediately. There is little benefit in remaining in side content if the main quest is already available again.

Levels 22–28: Continue Through the Main Story

After the first Ascension, return to the yellow Episode quests and keep progressing through the next region. This section should be relatively straightforward if your equipment is kept up to date.

Avoid building a permanent endgame setup during these levels. Leveling equipment is temporary, and your character will continue receiving replacements through quests, Expeditions, and other progression activities.

Urugugu Canyon becomes the next major Expedition checkpoint at around level 28. Treat it in the same way as Krao Cave: complete it when it supports progression or provides a useful upgrade, then return to the story.

Levels 28–35: Prepare for the Second Ascension

The second major Ascension requirement appears around level 32. When the Episode chain pauses again, use nearby activities that directly contribute to the required progress instead of farming random enemies.

This is also a good time to clear useful regional objectives that provide equipment, experience, or other character-development rewards. The important part is to avoid traveling across the entire map for a small amount of additional experience.

Second Ascension checklist

  • Check the exact requirement shown by the current quest
  • Prioritize nearby activities that provide the required progress
  • Complete the necessary Ascension objective
  • Replace clearly outdated equipment
  • Return to the Episode chain
  • Save expensive materials for stronger level-cap equipment

Fire Temple becomes available as an Exploration Expedition around level 35. It can provide another useful progression checkpoint, but repeated runs should depend on your actual equipment needs rather than becoming an automatic leveling routine.

Levels 35–45: Push the Episode Chain

From level 35 onward, the most efficient route becomes even simpler. Continue following the main Episode quests and only stop when the game requires additional progression.

You can still collect convenient exploration rewards and complete useful nearby activities, but don’t let optional content interrupt the main route for long periods.

Recommended priority from 35 to 45

PriorityActivityMain purpose
1Episode questsMain experience and story progression
2Required progression contentClear story gates
3ExpeditionsProgression and equipment
4Nearby regional contentExtra progress when needed
5Equipment upgradesReplace weak or outdated gear
6Optional explorationCollection and additional rewards

Reaching 45 is a major progression point, but it is not the end of character development. Higher-level content introduces stronger equipment requirements, so the next goal should be preparing the character rather than continuing to chase experience that is no longer needed.

Hidden Cubes: Collect Them Along Your Route

Hidden Cubes are open-world exploration containers. They are separate from the inventory Cube and should not be treated as a way to increase bag capacity.

Some Hidden Cubes require a Key: Hidden Cube to open. Their possible locations can also be organized into groups, which means a location shown on an exploration map should not automatically be treated as a guaranteed active spawn.

For a character still leveling toward 45, the most efficient method is to collect Hidden Cubes opportunistically.

Efficient Hidden Cube routine

  • Continue following the current Episode objective.
  • Watch the surrounding area while traveling.
  • Investigate a Hidden Cube when one appears naturally along the route.
  • Check whether the container requires a key.
  • Open it when using a key fits your current collection goal.
  • Continue toward the main quest afterward.
  • Save dedicated map-clearing sessions for later.

This prevents Hidden Cube hunting from turning a straightforward leveling route into a long exploration detour.

When to Spend Hidden Cube Keys

Keys should be treated as a separate exploration resource. If you are only trying to reach level 45, there is no reason to stop the entire leveling route every time you find a key-required container.

If you want to complete Hidden Cube achievements, a dedicated collection run is more practical. Keep track of useful locations, collect enough keys, and search the relevant regions after your character has finished the main leveling route.

The rewards associated with Hidden Cubes can also change as the game receives updates, so use the current item description and in-game reward information when deciding how aggressively to spend your keys.

Hidden Cubes Are Not Inventory Expansion

The term “hidden backpack” can cause confusion because Aion 2 has both Hidden Cubes and the character’s inventory Cube. They serve completely different purposes.

A Hidden Cube is an exploration object that provides rewards. Cube Expansion increases the amount of inventory space available to your character.

If your inventory is already becoming crowded, prioritize actual Cube Expansion opportunities instead of searching for Hidden Cubes.

Early inventory solution

The Shugo-of-All-Trades quest is useful for new characters because completing Dari’s request can provide a Cube Expansion Voucher along with other progression rewards. The quest becomes available during the early Verteron progression, making it worth completing before inventory space becomes a constant problem.

After obtaining an expansion voucher, use it when appropriate and continue clearing unnecessary items from your inventory. This gives you more room for quest rewards, equipment, materials, and other resources collected during the climb to 45.

How to Combine Leveling and Exploration

The cleanest route is to let the main quest determine where you go and use exploration content when it naturally overlaps with that route.

Main progression:

Episode quests, required Ascension activities, Expedition checkpoints, then back to the Episode chain.

Exploration:

Collect a Hidden Cube when you encounter one without creating a major detour.

Inventory:

Complete early Cube Expansion opportunities before your storage becomes restrictive.

This approach keeps your leveling route focused while still allowing you to collect useful Aion 2 Items along the way.

What to Do After Reaching Level 45

Once you reach level 45, stop treating experience as the main objective. Check the remaining Episode requirements, review your equipment, and start working toward the item-level requirements for the next stage of content.

A good post-45 priority is:

  1. Finish available main-story progression.
  2. Check the requirements for newly unlocked Expeditions and Abyss content.
  3. Replace your weakest equipment slots first.
  4. Use enhancement materials on gear that is worth keeping.
  5. Complete useful remaining regional and progression activities.
  6. Start dedicated Hidden Cube collection if exploration achievements are part of your goal.

Keep your Aion 2 Kinah for meaningful progression expenses rather than spending heavily on equipment that is about to be replaced. Your level-45 character should be moving from basic leveling into equipment and progression improvement, so resource management becomes more important than simply gaining another level.

For the initial 1–45 run, stay with the Episode quests, clear Ascension requirements through nearby qualifying activities, use Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, and Fire Temple as appropriate Expedition checkpoints, and avoid unnecessary grinding. Handle Hidden Cubes as convenient exploration rewards and use actual Cube Expansion options when inventory space becomes the problem. Once 45 is reached, shift your focus to equipment requirements, remaining story progression, and the next available endgame activities.
